Jeffrey Lucas, President and Co-Founder
Mr. Lucas brings more than three decades of sales, management and entrepreneurship to 360 iCoach™. He cut his teeth at IBM, Hitachi and Digital Equipment Corporation before moving to Oracle in 1995 to start and lead the software giant’s healthcare business. At Oracle, Lucas grew a $100 million business and eventually helped the company overtake Sybase as the leader in healthcare-related software. Mr. Lucas was then recruited into SAIC to lead its healthcare sector and soon grew this group into a $250 million business.
As have many at this stage in their careers, Mr. Lucas answered the call of fame and fortune awaiting in the world of startups. As a senior executive in a number of ventures, Mr. Lucas again proved he could deliver sound strategies and business growth. In 2005, Mr. Lucas met Thomas Schmidt and quickly concluded they had a potential tiger by the tail, and they formed Datapool Systems, Inc., the parent company of 360 iCoach™. Mr. Lucas now spends his days building 360 iCoach™ into an indispensable tool for elite sports organizations and gaining traction in that marketplace.
Mr. Lucas earned his undergraduate degree at University of California at Berkeley with a BA in Economics. He received management training at IBM, completed Harvard Business School courses and several other management courses at DEC and Oracle. He now lives in Danville and is the proud father of two college-age children.
Stephen B. Montgomery, SVP Sales and Marketing
Mr. Montgomery is a versatile sales, marketing and business development executive known for success in creating visionary solutions and strategies in the technology sector. He, too, brings over three decades of experience to 360 iCoach and began his career with IBM. There, he consistently posted strong business results and earned the right to run larger teams and business portfolio. Ultimately, he left in 1998 for the lure of greater executive leadership and untapped riches in Y2K, dot.com-dot.bomb, and eCommerce for which he proudly boasts “more wins than losses”.
While Mr. Montgomery has spent the bulk of his career in sales, marketing and business development around the strategic application of technology to business problems, he has also had the opportunity to see it from the ‘other side of the desk’ as CIO for multiple organizations in the $50-100M in sales range. He offers a unique blend of business and financial (numbers) acumen that enables him to consistently find the value for all parties and hence build win-win solutions.
While the background and career arc of Mr. Lucas and Mr. Montgomery are eerily similar (UC Berkeley, BA-Economics, IBM, Harvard Exec Program and even stellar careers on the Rugby pitch), the truth is that they hadn’t seen each other in close to 20 years. When Steve caught wind of Jeff’s vision for 360 iCoach, the connection was immediate and unflinching. Mr. Montgomery is absolutely giddy with excitement to blend two of his true passions: business/technology and sports.
Having spent the bulk of his work life in the Midwest (Chicago, Detroit, Louisville) and East (NY), Mr. Montgomery is now happily entrenched in Los Gatos, CA with a daughter entering her last year of college and a son in high school who aspires to get profiled by the majors in 360 iCoach.
